GCSE Overview

 

Core Portfolio

  • 60% of GCSE, 2 x Sketchbooks 

  • Homeworks 2 a week , each practical piece needs an evaluation and a photograph

  • By September of the second year pupils decide on what they will focus on e.g. ceramics. This area will be developed further and final preparations for the final piece will begin at the end of October.

  • Final outcome inspired by the two sketchbooks, begins at the start of November 

  • All coursework is completed by Christmas

 

Exam 

  • Released on first week of January

  • 60%

  • 7 weeks to prepare for exam which  includes producing photos, written research, & completing 9 A2 prep. sheets

  • Final Piece is completed under examination conditions in school

  • Art & Design GCSE is completed usually by the end of March

GCSE The Journey

Brainstorm to gather inspiration and logical ideas


Choose one area from the Brainstorm and begin to develop the topic, using various images, media and techniques.  The journey will be inspired by various artists and crafts' people.


Finally an end product will be completed, which has been the culmination of many months work!  This will be created using the media of the pupil's choice and the images which the pupil has chosen to concentrate on
