(Core Portfolio)

Always refer to the Assessment criteria

You need to show the journey you are on which leads you to decide on the medium you chose to home in on. What you need to include-

brainstorm

recordings- 1st hand photographs

variety of media

experimentation- this is different from using a variety of media, it is trying out different materials in order to create some effect e.g. if studying human skin try a sample using material that shows understanding of the texture and surface of the skin e.g. you may decide to use a combination of cling film and hot wax with paint.

layout sheets/design sheets

one area that is developed a little further in order to be used for a final outcome.

another area of art & design that is fully developed to allow a successful final outcome to be created.

All practical work complete on the right side of the sketchbook and on the left side include photographs, evaluations and explanations.

All work needs to be evaluated.Follow the guidelines that you have been given.

Always make sure you check spelling, punctuation, grammar, sentence construction

and make sure you have used art language through out. Have a parent or some one else to check it over for you. Remember the computer does not have the capacity to check all of these areas.

Either type the evaluations or write neatly with silver pen on black sugar paper. When writing about the artists, word process the information and do not copy chunks from the internet. Put the information into your own words and include quotes, using brackets to declare where the information was found i.e. the title of book and author, or the web site.
